Elixir Enviro Systems (P) Ltd (EES), provides complete solution for odour emissions Process Industries, Sewage Treatment Plants, Municipal Solid Waste Treatment Plants, and commercial establishments. EES undertakes turnkey supply and installation of biological gas treatment system for odour control.

An odour control system has two main components
– Exhaust collection and ventilation system
– exhaust gas treatment system

EES custom designs and installs exhaust ventilation and exhaust gas treatment for each application.

Odour is the result of complex mixtures of volatile gas compounds. The compounds containing odour are destroyed in Gas Biofilters and Gas Bioscrubbers. EES selects a system most suited for an application considering factors such as required odour removal efficiencies, flow and inlet odour concentration, type of chemical species in the odour, variability in flow and load, space requirements and infrastructure (power, drainage, etc). Elixir Gas Biofilter Cocofil™ is the most cost effective and eco-friendly option in many cases. The biofilter media used is a patented invention of CSIR NIIST, Thiruvananthapuram, which is licensed by EES for commercial applications. A unique feature of Elixir Gas Biofilter Cocofil™ is that it does not consume chemicals, produces no waste products and has very low energy consumption.

Depending on the industry, the exhaust air is pre-conditioned with water scrubber, chemical scrubber or a bioscrubber before the Cocofil™ Gas Biofilter. EES studies the requirement and selects the pre-conditioning required for the specific industry. Cocofil™ Gas Biofilter employs bacteria to remove undesirable components from the waste gases. The waste gases are pumped though Cocofil™ pre-inoculated with sufficient microbial biomass. Upon absorption in the filter material, microorganisms break down the polluting components and transform them into harmless products – carbon dioxide, mineral salts and water. Cocofil™ is fully active and start-up is immediate at switch on.

Cocofil™ is formulated to remove mineral salts formed during treatment of nitrogen, sulphur and chlorine containing volatile organic compounds. Cocofil™ has long life, as it is a very stable but organic material, provide the most hospitable moist surface for microbial growth. Cocofil™ is available in low pressure and higher pressure variants suitable for high strength emissions. EES works with users to select the product suitable for their application.
